Women’s Breakfast – Coordinator TBD – Social – Every other Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. Contact the church office for current location. Open to all women. Please see our Calendar page here for exact schedule.
Lutheran Women’s Missionary League – Mary Behnfeldt, President and Treasurer – Mission – An active group of women who care deeply about the Great Commission. LWML meets every 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The LWML Ohio District has set a goal for 2018-2020 of $85,000 for specific earmarked mission projects. Emmaus LWML collects money in Mite Boxes to assist fulfilling this goal. These dedicated women sponsor and carry out funeral luncheons, church dinners, sending quilts, the Easter Breakfast, a Community Meal, and visiting/sending cards for shut-ins. For female members of Emmaus in good standing.
Tuesdays With Arlene (Emmaus Quilters) – Chris Schlueter, Coordinator – Social/Crafting/Mission – Every Tuesday 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. – Year round. Quilts are produced from donated materials, are blessed in worship and sent to where they are needed, including Community Pregnancy Center (CPC), Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne, DaVita Wauseon Dialysis Center, Fulton Manor and Indian Meadows nursing homes, Orphan Grain Train, Papilio Spa and Wellness Center – Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), Sara’s Garden, and various Veteran’s organizations. Arlene Pennington led the group for many years and it is now named to the glory of God and in her honor. Anyone is invited to participate!
Wednesday Evening Youth – NOTE: WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT MEETING AT THIS TIME.
Social/Educational – Every Wednesday night during the school year (September-May) from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Open to anyone in Kindergarten-6th grade and special needs – parents are invited to help as well. Bible time, games, songs, snacks, and fun! Our 5th-8th Graders travel to the Ohio District Jr. High Youth Gathering each spring. YOU can help out! To be a youth volunteer, click here.
Senior Youth – NOTE: WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT MEETING AT THIS TIME.
Social/Educational/Service – those who are in High School. Besides regular opportunities to enjoy fun activities, gather together around God’s word, and do things that directly benefit the community, each fall they travel to the Ohio District Senior High Youth Gathering.
Confirmation – Educational/Relational – Every Wednesday night during the school year (September-May) from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Emmaus for members in 7th and 8th grade. This is the basics of the faith from Luther’s Small Catechism (10 Commandments, Apostles’ Creed, Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, and Holy Communion) one year and Bible Overview, Church History, Worship & Liturgy, and Contemporary Issues the other year.
Men’s Breakfast – Coordinator TBD – Social – Every other Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Ryan’s Restaurant in Wauseon (1095 N SHOOP AVE) in the back room. Open to all men. Please see our Calendar page here for exact schedule.
Praise Team – Karin McGilvery, Leader – Worship Leaders – leads music for our Contemporary Services twice a month. Volunteers are welcome to join at any time on vocals or instruments. At least one member of the Praise Team sits on Worship Committee. Children are always invited up for the closing song to play percussion instruments. “Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary!” Psalm 150:1
Prayer Chain – Leone Huner, Coordinator – Prayer – Activates as needed. For members 18 years and older. When someone has a prayer request, these people call each other and each commits to praying for that request. Requests are shared discreetly and NOT discussed. Leone is called to activate the chain.
